Undercover investigations: Project Veritas promises to expose the lies and deceptions of the mainstream media

James O’Keefe has recently stated that the next mission for his group, Project Veritas, is to go after the media. Now that the campaign season is officially over, media members may have felt some initial relief from criticism — that was until the undercover activist, O’Keefe, confirmed on Thursday that the media has “another thing coming.”

At the DeploraBall, which was held at the National Press Club on Thursday evening, O’Keefe promised that his group is just getting started on ripping apart the media. O’Keefe was proud to make that statement publicly known, while issuing this warning to the media, “We have your name. We have your number. We are embedded in your institutions. We are inside the newsrooms, and that is going to be our next target,” said O’Keefe. (RELATED: Find more propaganda news stories at

It’s ironic that the warning to the press was issued at the National Press Club. The sting is apparently already underway if we take O’Keefe at his word, that Project Veritas is already inside newsrooms. In time, we will discover weather O’Keefe’s threats are legitimate, or if he is just trying to make journalists paranoid about who their co-workers are — it could be all the above.

Jeff Ballou reacts to O’Keefe’s words of waging war

The Incoming President of the National Press Club, Jeff Ballou, responded to O’Keefe’s threat. “Mr. O’Keefe is free to exercise his First Amendment rights — even in our home,” said Ballou. The National Press Club President also went on to express that O’Keefe knows their address, if he wishes to fight the journalism profession, opposed to understanding it. Ballou said he would be happy to educate O’Keefe about the great work that has been performed, for over a century, by members and colleagues of the National Press Club.

Ballou insisted that his club leads by example of constitutional and legal tolerance, because of where O’Keefe decided to make his declaration. The National Press Club welcomed the DeploraBall and allowed O’Keefe to express his thoughts. Ballou feels that is counter intuitive to the notion of media intolerance of conservative voices, and should be remembered when O’Keefe’s next release surfaces.

More insight about Project Veritas and James O’Keefe

This isn’t the first time that O’Keefe has gone after the media. Back in 2011, a couple of Project Veritas workers posed as representatives from a Muslim charity. The undercover project Veritas workers secretly recorded a conversation with the fundraising executive from NPR, Ron Schiller. The team captured Schiller making disparaging remarks about members of the tea party, insisting they are “seriously racist, racist people” who “believe in sort of white, middle-America gun-toting.” Shiller resigned from NPR immediately, and chief executive Vivian Schiller also stepped down. O’Keefe’s new assault on the media is likely to have a similar aim of reinforcing conservatives’ beliefs in pervasive liberal bias. (RELATED: Find more NPR news at

Project Veritas was founded by O’Keefe, and became famous for conducting investigative sting operations. The project is best known for their work in exposing corruption with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN.

O’Keefe was arrested by the government six years ago. While he was in prison, the federal agents destroyed his evidence from another attempted sting. The destroyed evidence was compensated by the public who were sharing those videos and posting them to social media. O’Keefe is thankful to everyone who supported him and maintained the evidence he had collected. “I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every one of you. For always believing in Veritas and believing in me and strutting the message out,” O’Keefe continues, “This is very surreal. … One man is more powerful than the New York Times, but you guys in this room are a thousand times more powerful than the New York Times,” said O’Keefe.
